Charlotte attorney Gary Mauney's interview with WCNC's (Charlotte NBC) "Verify" reporter Meghan Bragg on the question of whether teachers could be sued for negligently transmitting COVID at the schoolhouse. In 1920, in a decision named Crowell v. Crowell, the NC Supreme Court made it clear the answer is "yes." Of course, like any other case, you would have to produce evidence and prove your case to a jury by a preponderance of that evidence (i.e., more likely than not) - and you would need damages sufficient to support the economics of the case. But the answer is: "Yes."
